We also ordered this plate of seafood fried rice and a plate of chicken fried rice. They were both above average in quantity and quality.

Ob Wun Saen or Baked Glass Noodles with Shrimp

One Thai dish we ordered at the Crab Fried Rice place was Ob Wun Saen or Baked Glass Noodles with Shrimp. The raw ingredients are sealed in this little pot and heated. Usually the pot is made from clay but this one is aluminum - this is the Thai version of baking. There was an incredible amount of garlic (10 cloves) and lots and lots of galangal in there and it all fused together quite nicely.

Tonight we took advantage of the relatively cool evening and took a walk to the Suan Siam neighborhood of Bangkok to check out some local Thai food establishments.

Thai Food for American Style

From the first time I ate at a Thai food restaurant in America, I could tell some things were different from the Thai food I've had all my life in Thailand . And then from my experience working at a Thai food restaurant in San Francisco I learned how Thai food is prepared for American people that differs from original Thai cooking.
